Spring Bugsy Beach 1K Sprints

Thank you for joining us on Saturday May 17th as we sprint to the finish of our Spring season! Check out our Bugsy Beach Regatta Guide for all the details. This year we are We are excited to announce that we will be using our new professionally installed 6 lane course made possible by the generous support of our community! 

Final Schedule Updates: Updated final schedule will be linked once all team registrations have been completed. This of course is subject to final review at the Coaches meeting on the day of the regatta. Race Packets will be provided with a schedule for each team to ensure we're all working from the same document. A course map and results QR code will also be distributed. We've done our best to accommodate hot dock situations as well. Please remind rowers to come immediately to the beach for wet launch if their equipment or athletes are in another event.

Weather: We plan to continue as scheduled unless wind and thunder/lightning cause a delay. Neither are predicted as of now, only chance of rain which we will still race through. 

Parking: Please pre-pay parking as Bugsy Beach only has Verizon mobile phone service. Gates open at 6am. Coaches and trailers in tow will not be charged parking fees. Please remmber that all other vehicles will be $10 cash. Athlete drop off will be at the small red barn near the parking corral.

Directions to Bugsy Beach: [the closest address to race course is 809 Airship Dr]

Travel South on US-17

Continue onto Bypass US-17 S toward Heartford, Edenton

Take exit 258 onto Halstead Blvd Ext [NC-344]

Turn left onto Halstead Blvd toward Elizabeth City

Drive 8.6mi [past the Coast Guard base] and turn left onto Consolidated Rd.

In 1.1mi you will turn right onto Bayside Rd

Then, quick left onto Davis Bay Rd.

Continue straight into Newbegun Land neighborhood.

Go about 2mi, then Right on Airship Dr.

Follow PAST the Red Barn and take a left towards Bugsy Beach (down the gravel road).
