Social Media Guidelines
Purpose: To ensure all social media interactions related to our organization are positive, respectful and align with our mission of enriching the greater community by providing programs for youth and adults of all skill levels from novice, to recreational, to competitive athletes.
Scope: This policy applies to all board members, coaches, volunteers, parents, and athletes.
Guidelines:
Be Respectful and Positive:
Always communicate in a respectful and positive manner.
Avoid negative comments or arguments. If disagreements arise, handle them offline.
Protect Privacy:
Do not share personal information of athletes, parents, or staff without consent.
Avoid posting detailed information about team locations or schedules.
Promote Good Sportsmanship:
Highlight positive achievements and sportsmanship in practice, during regattas, and event preparation.
Encourage and support all athletes, regardless of performance.
Use Appropriate Content:
Share content that is appropriate for all ages.
Share informative and educational content. Some examples may be related to rowing techniques, training tips, nutrition advice, and injury prevention that have worked for you.
Do not post or share offensive, inappropriate, or controversial material.
Represent the Organization Well:
Remember that your posts reflect the character of the Elizabeth City Rowing Club organization.
Avoid any content that could harm the organization’s reputation.
Encourage and support other teams participating in regattas
Follow Legal and Ethical Standards:
Adhere to copyright laws and give credit for shared content.
Do not engage in or endorse illegal activities.
Enforcement: Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the organization.
